Chihuahua Puppies for sale

The Chihuahua is considered the smallest breed of dog in the world. The history of this cutie is not exact, and filled with romantic myths and legends. The name Chihuahua came from the city in Mexico where the breed was discovered in modern times. It is believed they are derived from an ancient, silent breed called the techichi a breed used for religious purposes, food ,and pets by the Toltec’s . The techichi was a longer haired dog, and the tan color was most prized. The dog was believed to help one find their way to the after life. So one was scarified with the body of a human.

It is also believed that a small toy breed from malta also contributed to the Chihuahuas small stature,. Another history theory is the Chihuahua had origins relating them to a chinnese hairless breed.

The last theory and one that is the least likely is the Chihuahua was derived from the fennec fox. Genetically a fox can not breed with a dog or any other member of the canine family such as the coyote and wolf. So as romantic as it may seem the fox cross is extremely unlikely.
The Chihuahua is a hardy small dog sometimes thought of as having a napoleon complex. They can be terrier like and aggressive to those who try to come between them and their master be it human or animal. Their bark most likely is worse then their bite and many times they are just acting. A Chihuahua should be raised to be well socialized so they will not become overly protective. They are extremely smart dogs . So they need to have structure growing up so their attachments to their owners do not cause them to have personality problems in public. If allowed to be a dog they can become quit normal. coddling a Chihuahua puppy too much can make them neurotic. All Chihuahuas enjoy being carried around, but one must remember to allow them to actually exercise for their health and development.
